The Government is a Drain

I would like to have the opportunity to vote on a permanent tax reduction on sales tax.  And I would vote for a permanent tax reduction on income tax.

I plan to vote NO on 100 because the government is a poor choice for providing many things, including health care, dental service, education and bake sales. The government is a terrible steward of money and they do not inspire people to do their best.  Rather the government is a drain and a hurdle that good people have to 'deal with'.

I think people should be taxed less and the government should do less so people can have a greater opportunity to give.

I would like to see parents taking their children to school instead of the taxpayers being forced to pay for school buses and salaries for the transportation of school children.

I think parents should take care of their children instead of the taxpayers being forced to pay.

Are you content to let some minors be the casualties of their guardians’ poor decisions?

That is an excellent point.

No, I don't want to let some minors be the casualty of their guardians' poor decisions.

However, I don't think we should condone/support/encourage a guardian's poor decision, which could attract others to also make poor decisions.

I think there are entities that are far better/qualified for providing support to minors with guardians who have a history of making poor decisions.

I think medium/small nonprofit organizations can fill this role. A small organization can be created or dismantled as needs change, increase or decrease. However a government program may require an 'act of congress' which can be a burden on generations to come.

Nonprofit organizations should never operate in a way to contribute to the national debt, but rather should be able to make their case to the people .. and the people can choose to get involved and support a cause.

A very important part of a business plan is the exit strategy. I think a business/organization/government entity need a business plan. If they are not able to 'end' or are 'too big to fail', then perhaps they are 'too big' and need to be split into 'fail-able parts' that can react to changes in society.

There are (at least) 3 entities:
forprofit, nonprofit and government

I support the government providing:
- military
- police
- fire department
- jails
- courts
- highways
- passports
- border security (land/air/ocean)
- monetary system that has no inflation backed by gold and/or Real Estate
